F2Cloud WebShield
WAF as a Service (WAFaaS) & DDoS Protection
Managing DDoS traffic protection and WAF request-inspection rules around application requirements.
Live flow
- Clean traffic
- Blocked request
Learn legitimate traffic → monitor policies → tune false positives → operate
Conceptual animation; real throughput and volume depend on your agreed scope.
01What this service means
Absorbing traffic and inspecting requests are different defences.
A network flood and a malicious application request are different threats. A poorly tuned rule can also block real customers.
Outputs of the agreed scope
Layered protection design, WAF rules and exceptions, log review and change-management scope.
Important boundary
A WAF does not replace secure development. False positives and exceptions require ongoing review.
02F2Cloud WebShield / Service flow
Not just blocking. Letting the right traffic through.
Learn legitimate traffic → monitor policies → tune false positives → operate
Outcome: Legitimate usage is understood.
-
At this stage
The application's legitimate traffic profile is established.
-
At this stage
Protection rules are enabled in monitoring mode.
-
At this stage
False positives are resolved and blocking mode is enabled.
-
At this stage
Events are monitored and rules updated as the application changes.
WAF reduces exploitation risk; it does not fix application vulnerabilities. DDoS mitigation is a separate network layer.
A Web Application Firewall inspects HTTP/HTTPS traffic to detect and block attacks such as SQL injection, cross-site scripting (XSS), path traversal and abusive API calls.
An unmanaged WAF either stays too permissive or produces false positives that block legitimate users. In a managed WAF service, rules are tuned to your application, events are monitored and policy is reviewed regularly.
DDoS mitigation works on a different layer: volumetric traffic is reduced at network level and the remaining traffic is inspected by the WAF.
Technical scope and limits
- A WAF doesn't fix application vulnerabilities; it reduces exploitation risk.
- No WAF or DDoS solution blocks every attack; protection scope is set in the service definition.
Frequently asked questions
What is a managed WAF service?
A model where the provider handles WAF deployment, rule tuning, false-positive management and continuous monitoring.
Does a WAF protect APIs?
Yes. Schema, rate-limit and attack-pattern policies can be applied to API endpoints.
What does DDoS protection pricing depend on?
Number of protected applications, traffic volume, WAF scope and monitoring level; we prepare a monthly proposal.

What is a WAF? How it differs from DDoS protection
Web security is not a single filter. Application requests, volumetric attacks and code security are handled at different layers.

Questions to ask when choosing local hosting in Turkey
Do not choose local hosting based only on a server's address. Backups, support access, recovery and responsibilities are part of the decision.
03What confidence is built on
Less adjectives. More accountability.
F2Cloud brings F2 Bilişim's networking, cybersecurity and virtualization engineering into a managed service model. A sound decision needs clear boundaries as well as commitments.
- 01
Written scope. Clear ownership.
Which workloads are protected? Who monitors and responds? The proposal defines architecture, included services and responsibility boundaries.

A target matters when it is measured.
RPO and RTO are set around your workloads. Recovery exercises assess applications, networking and access together. A target is not a guarantee.

Know where data lives and who can reach it.
A Turkey-hosting assessment must cover primary data, backups, logs and support access. KVKK considerations include data flows and roles, not location alone.
